Singer Sheebah Karungi’s manager only identified as Idrisa has spoken out on their Sunday attack by “hooligans” in Mbale on Saturday night at Thatch Gardens bar.
While speaking to galaxy FM’s Jonathan Nalebo in today’s mid-morning show, Idrisa said fans did not attack Sheeebah because she did something wrong, as there were a number of performers who were lined up for the event.
“The show had Topic, Rodyen Y, Rema, Sheebah. The show wasn’t ours, it was for the promoters, we were given time to start at 10:30 pm and Rema was meant to come to the stage on 12pm,” he said.
“People became rowdy and Rema became scared so she left the stage for Sheebah to sing, Sheebah sang like 3 songs despite their disorganization. They later sang with Rema back to back but still people fought. So why did they fight there?” he wondered.
When asked whether their late coming could have caused the chaos and anger amidst the crowds, the all angry manager by that time said, “No we never sang late in Mbale” adding that , “there are two competing venues, when one holds a bigger show they send goons to beat them and spoil property”.
The bar communique to the media also hinted in people hiring thugs to disrupt shows in other hangouts.
Sheebah Karungi and Rema were on Saturday night beaten by hooligans while performing in Mbale after a heavy downpour.
