Soft spoken singer Chris Evans Kaweesi has decided to follow musician Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine into politics, by revealing that he wants to contest for Makindye Municipality Member of Parliament seat.
While talking to Chimp corps this afternoon, Kaweesi said that; “I am going to contest for the Makindye Ssabagabo Municipality MP seat in the next general elections of 2021.”
The ‘Silitagara’ hit singer said he is ready to serve the people of Makindye Ssabagabo especially the youth, through creating job opportunities to solve the unemployment gap, as well as improving the social services in the region he aspires to lead.
The area is currently represented by Democratic Party’s Sempala Kigozi.
Kaweesi added that “I got the idea of joining politics after hustling to make ends meet, plus enduring harsh and unfair living situations with no genuine freedom and peace due to political issues in our country.”
Other entertainers who have already revealed their political aspirations include; King Saha, Ronald Mayinja, Matthias Walukagga, Mariam Ndagire and Patriko Mujuka.
