Public holidays and weekends are a welcome relief and an excuse to party for many Ugandans; the weekend wasn’t any different for people in Jinja town.
On Friday thousands of Jinja partiers were treated to a massive party by Uganda Waragi Coconut brand at the Laftaz Lounge in Jinja.
The party which started as early as midday and continued till the wee hours of Saturday morning, was very exciting because of the exhilarating events that took place at the venue, where the Nyege Nyege Festival was also held.
Rhona Namanya, the Lead Innovations Manager at Uganda Breweries Limited said that Uganda Waragi Coconut is a brand that seeks to give Ugandans an experience just like its smooth, sweet taste.
“Uganda Waragi Coconut will be engaging with its consumers across the country in similar, exciting ways.
That can therefore only mean one thing; the party is just getting started.” Namanya said.
Although there had been a heavy downpour earlier in the day, it did not dampen the spirits of the partiers, because most of them had already taken vantage positions at the venue by time it rained.
Revellers enjoyed litres of Uganda Waragi during the get ‘Loco for Coco’ sessions as ushers clad on Caribbean style outfits ferried bottles of the spirit to serve eager consumers.
With a bottle of UG Coco coming with freebies like t-shirts, it was only a matter of time before the entire Lounge was arrayed in white.
Owing to the chilly weather, many revellers were excused for opting to get a second t-shirt.
The fun l was completed by DJ Simples, who took to the decks and made the already frenzied audience take turns on trying to out-dance each other.
An expertly blended mix of Caribbean, Rhythm and Blues, Hip Hop and Ugandan classics won DJ Simples a very enthusiastic audience.
They just couldn’t wait for the next track to ne played as they danced nonstop.
For a moment it appeared as if the open space just outside the main Laftaz Lounge had become smaller as revellers partied the night away.
