Socialite Zari Hassan’s mother Ms. Halima Hassan breathed her last on Thursday morning.
She was hospitalized for weeks at Nakasero hospital’s Intensive care Unit over cardiac illnesses.
As the country mourns with the socialite, here’s a quick biography about the deceased.
Ms. Halima was born in Jinja on May 15, 1959 to an Indian father and Ugandan Mother.
She was married to Nasur Hassan, Zari Hassan’s father.
She lived in Jinja for the better time of her life before relocating to Munyonyo, Kampala.
Ms. Halima relocated shortly after Zari and Ivan Semwanga’s introduction that saw the latter offer a fully-furnished house to the family.
On that date, Ms, Halima (now the late) was also gifted with a brand new spacio car, which she later sold off.
After settling in Kampala, Ms. Halima slowly got involved in day-to-day business operations of her daughter’s ventures including her fashion store at Garden city.
She would oversee procedures of the business alongside her other daughter Zuleha Hassan.
Clear with her looks, Zari’s mother is of mixed blood. She boasts both of Indian and Ugandan blood.
After the unfortunate slow-down of Zari’s shop in Kampala, Zari’s mother concentrated on her home in Munyonyo.
Even when her daughter Zari parted ways with Ivan, Ms. Halima kept in touch and would occassionaly host Ivan at her home.
After burying her beloved son-in-law in May, Ms. Hassan developed cardiac complications.
She was hospitalized for several weeks before being moved to the ICU at Nakasero hospital where she died.
She passed on at 58.
